As young adults with special needs age out of familiar supports, the adult world may bring many new, detrimental struggles. The COVID-19 pandemic has made the situation even worse. A recent study found increased food insecurity throughout the pandemic for families impacted by autism.

Thankfully, there are organizations such as Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministry which address food insecurity for those in need. During December and January, ACES has been able to deliver 3 van loads of nonperishable food and personal care items donated by our participants at ACES Charity Poker fundraising events. We were also thrilled to present a check for $500.00 to The Co-Op for purchasing additional items and covering operating costs. And…we aren’t finished yet! Our donation collections will continue at all of our events through the end of February.

It is so exciting to see the huge difference we can make when we all work together! Thank you for your continued generosity.
